Walkthrough Before We Start
Before install week our lead walks the house with a moisture meter, because spring melt off East Mountain can dampen a cellar, and he checks joists and level too.

Anyone we send up past the Strong Hewit Mill carries NWFA certification and a Massachusetts license, and our insurance protects your house as well as the crew.
On install morning we measure each room a second time. Oak cartons, transitions and trim are opened in the garage, so nothing missing turns up halfway through a wall.
Twelve months of labor coverage begin when the last row is nailed, and your plank maker adds its own warranty on top.

Rows follow the room lengthwise, the familiar farmhouse look that leaves very little scrap in the dumpster.

Short pieces lock into a tight zigzag, lively in a den beside the kitchen.

Angled ends form arrow points that lead the eye toward a hillside view.

Rows set on the diagonal open up a small bedroom under the eaves and disguise walls that are out of square.

Little blocks of oak, each rotated a quarter turn, make a handsome border around a dining table.

Paired slats alternate direction in a woven grid, a lovely old pattern for a reading room.

In Clarksburg we nail oak for $2.25/Sq Ft in labor, felt and cleats covered. When the wood comes from our Coventry stock, unfinished oak installed is $5.50/Sq Ft, with prefinished planks at $6.00/Sq Ft.
A damp cellar can send moisture up into wood, so our installer meters the subfloor and the oak before any nailing. If numbers run high, we wait or suggest engineered planks.
Solid oak should not be nailed over concrete, but engineered planks float there nicely on foam for $2.00/Sq Ft, with a vapor sheet underneath.
Solid strips usually rest indoors a few days to match your home. Prefinished engineered planks often need less time, and your installer lays out that timeline during the visit.
Yes. Tearing out what is there now typically adds close to $1.00/Sq Ft. If you would rather not wrestle the sofa and bureaus around, we handle the furniture for $250 flat.
You pay for labor the morning our installers pull in, and for any wood we sell you once it is unloaded. Sanding jobs differ: half up front, the other half when we finish.
Oak ships from Coventry and reaches the northern Berkshires the following day, and we book installers once the planks have had time to settle into your rooms.
Yes. Our NWFA certified team guarantees installation work twelve months, and the plank maker separately warranties the wood itself.
