Unfinished hardwood arrives raw, with small height differences from board to board. After it’s nailed down, we sand the whole floor flat in three passes, so the seams disappear and the stain soaks in evenly. Then we seal it right there in the room.

Skip a grit and the stain shows every swirl. We start coarse to flatten the boards, step up to medium, then finish fine so the surface feels smooth under bare feet. Then we vacuum the whole room before any stain or polyurethane goes down.
