Walkthrough Before We Start
Our crew lead starts by walking the house, checking joists from the cellar when possible and marking where the oak should meet tile, slate hearths and the kitchen.

Every installer we bring is NWFA trained, licensed by the state and insured. Dust sheets cover doorways, the stair rail gets wrapped and muddy boots stay outside.
When the truck pulls up, rooms get a final tape check, and cartons, reducers and moldings are counted against the layout so nothing stalls the work.
For one year after the floor is down, we fix any problem traced to our installation, apart from the oak maker's own warranty.

Running rows the long way makes a farmhouse living room on River Road feel bigger and wastes less wood.

A zigzag of short pieces gives a dining room in Whately Center an old world feel.

V shaped rows pull you down a long front hall in a house on Haydenville Road.

Angled strips in a farmhouse study near the Great Swamp hide walls that have settled over two centuries.

Little squares set in opposite directions give a kitchen nook in East Whately a checkered pattern.

Short strip pairs turn direction in each square, a woven look we laid in a cape near the Whately Milk Bottle.

Labor to nail solid oak is $2.25/Sq Ft. Want the wood from us as well? Unfinished oak, sanded and finished in your house, is $5.50/Sq Ft, and prefinished oak is $6.00/Sq Ft, both installed.
Usually. We check the joists from the cellar, shim or plane high spots and sister weak framing if needed, so the new oak lies as flat as an old house allows.
It can. Stove heat pulls humidity out of the house, so oak may show small gaps in January. A humidifier or a kettle on the stove keeps the floor much tighter.
Yes. A single bedroom or a hallway is worth the trip up I-91. Cartons usually reach Whately a day after ordering, and weekend installs are available.
Yes, for about $1.00/Sq Ft, and everything leaves in our truck. That big farmhouse table and the hutch can be carried out and back by us too, at $250 per job.
Yes. Rather than a threshold strip, fresh oak gets toothed into the existing rows, and both rooms are sanded and finished together until they look like one floor.
Send it over. When another installer's written price covers the same scope and wood, we'll go below it and still send NWFA certified people.
Labor is paid the morning installation starts, and materials when they're delivered. Sanding work is billed in two halves, one as it begins and one once it's complete.
