Walkthrough Before We Start
Seasonal swings between humid summers and dry, heated winters move wood in Pioneer Valley houses, so the crew lead checks the subfloor, thresholds and stairs before any plank is opened.

A license, insurance and NWFA certification belong to every person on our crew, and each of them works for us directly.
First we measure each room and stage boxes, trim and reducers close at hand, so the work goes forward without a pause for missing pieces.
Our labor is warranted for one year, and the boards come with the maker's own warranty, so both the workmanship and the wood are protected.

Planks running parallel to the longest wall go down fastest and waste the least. A long farmhouse hallway looks longer for it.

Short lengths turned at right angles in a zigzag, each cut by hand. This is period-correct for the dining room of an early Old Deerfield house.

Boards are mitered at 45 degrees so every row closes in a clean V, a good fit for the open kitchens of newer South Deerfield homes.

Planks angled across the floor lead the eye outward, which makes a small kitchen in a village cottage feel wider.

Oak squares laid with the grain alternating give a parquet look, traditional for a sunroom with Pioneer Valley views.

Short oak strips woven in an over-under pattern, usually framed with a contrasting border, are a classic in older homes near Deerfield Academy.

Nail-down labor is a flat $2.25/Sq Ft, with nails and underlayment inside the price. Buying the boards from us makes the package $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Yes. We pull the carpet and pad, remove tack strips, secure any soft subfloor and nail new hardwood over sound plywood. Old flooring tear-out is about $1.00/Sq Ft.
Engineered hardwood. The planks float over foam with glue in the joints, so no nail touches the concrete, and that method is $2.00/Sq Ft for labor.
We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate labor is $1.99/Sq Ft, with vinyl a good call for a mudroom or a damp cellar.
Delivery from the Natick warehouse is the next day. Once it is at the house, the crew begins as soon as the room is clear.
A new tread is $60. Existing wood stairs that are still sound can be hand refinished at $50 per step.
Labor is paid when the crew shows up and material when the boxes arrive. Sanding work is paid in two halves, the first when it begins and the second with the last coat.
It is. Labor has our one-year warranty and the flooring has its manufacturer warranty. Each installer is insured, licensed and holds an NWFA certification.
