Treads, Risers and Nosing
Measure tread depth and riser height on each step. Record the nosing shape and landing junction before choosing parts for your flight.

Compare tread samples beside the rail and landing. View the wood and coating in the usual light at both ends of your Annadale flight.
Find where an Annadale stair moves before choosing a surface treatment. Inspect visible joints and list your repairs in the estimate.
Keep your one-year stair workmanship terms with your signed scope. Save the tread and finish details and the care guide for reference.

Start at the finished floor where the door opens and follow the steps to both landings. Record the old floor surfaces and any changes planned for them. The new tread or edge can shift how each connection meets the landing, so review all these measurements before deciding which parts to order.
Tell the crew which entry is reached from Annadale Road and whether the work affects the only route to bedrooms or living areas. A measured visit can identify where materials can be turned, what flooring needs protection and when household members will need another way through.
Show how the rail posts and trim meet the current treads. If you want to keep them, measure the space for each new return and note where the finish must end. At an entry close to the park, also check how the bottom step meets the floor used for coming in from outside.
Measure the new finished level at the addition and the original height where the stairs begin. Compare the surface thicknesses as well as the tread and nosing profile. Establish the final connection before choosing components or agreeing which part of the existing stair can remain.
View a coated sample against the hall floor and against the rail at the upper landing. A dim hallway and a brighter room can show different undertones in the same wood. Bring samples to both ends of the flight before you approve the shade and sheen.
Find the actual moving connection first. Refastening an accessible part may be needed before fitting a tread or refinishing the surface. Include the repair and the limits of access in the scope.
A return finishes a visible tread end. Measure which sides are exposed and how the ends relate to the trim and nosing. Add the required return to the parts list before ordering.
Yes. View each option with the tread sample and the hall finish. Check the colors after the intended coating dries and choose how the riser should meet the nosing and trim.
