Walkthrough Before We Start
Old colonials with settled framing are common here, so our lead installer runs a straightedge over the subfloor, checks each doorway and marks where the first row begins.

Every installer is a Brazil Floors employee, never a subcontractor, with a license, insurance and NWFA certification behind the name on the truck.
On the morning we start, cartons are opened and counted, reducers are staged at every threshold and the nailer fires only once the layout looks right to the eye.
Our labor is warrantied for one year, and the mill stands behind the boards themselves, so both the work and the wood are covered.

Rows run with the longest wall, the quickest layout with the least waste. It stretches a narrow Norwell hallway.

Short oak pieces set in a zigzag, each one cut and fitted by hand. A fitting look for a formal dining room in an older colonial.

Each board end is mitered so the rows meet in a sharp point. It lends movement to a kitchen that opens onto the family room.

Planks set on the diagonal pull the eye to the far corner, so a small den near Jacobs Farm reads wider than it is.

Squares of oak turned grain against grain, parquet fashion. A classic touch for a sunroom at the back of the house.

Short strips woven over and under, usually ringed by a dark border. Handsome in a front hall.

Labor for nail down oak is $2.25/Sq Ft and covers nails plus underlayment. With the wood supplied by us, the package is $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Often yes, once it is flat and solid. We tighten loose spots, replace anything soft and nail the new oak into sound plywood or boards.
Engineered hardwood floated over foam, since nothing gets nailed into concrete. Labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Labor for each is $2.00/Sq Ft for vinyl and $1.99/Sq Ft for laminate, and vinyl is the better pick where moisture is a worry.
Delivery comes the next day from our Natick warehouse. Solid oak then rests in the house to adjust before the crew starts.
Each tread is $60, with the riser, nosing, stain and labor folded in. Stairs that are still solid can be refinished for $50 a step.
Labor is due when the crew shows up, and the material payment is due when boxes reach your door. For any sanding, half is paid at the start and half after the last coat.
Yes, labor carries a one-year warranty and the flooring has its maker's coverage. All of our installers are licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
