Walkthrough Before We Start
Houses along Mother Brook and around the courthouse have seen a century of settling, so our lead checks the subfloor for dips, tests each doorway and walks the stairs before a board is opened.

Licensed, insured, NWFA certified and on our payroll: that describes each person who walks into your Dedham home.
Every room is taped out first. Boxes, trim and reducers are then set by the door so the crew never stops to hunt for a piece.
Brazil Floors backs the labor for one year, and the mill backs the wood with its own warranty, which means the work and the boards are both protected.

Running planks parallel to the longest wall is the fastest layout and cuts waste to a minimum. It makes a narrow Dedham hallway read as longer.

Short lengths set at right angles in a zigzag, each piece cut by hand. A period match for a dining room in an old Dedham colonial.

Each board is cut at 45 degrees so the rows meet in a crisp V, which flatters a renovated kitchen opened to the dining room.

Planks angled across the room carry the eye outward, so a small Riverdale kitchen seems wider.

Oak squares set with the grain alternating, a parquet that fits a sunroom in a Greenlodge house.

Short oak pieces woven over and under, typically trimmed with a darker border, are at home in the Victorians around Dedham Square.

Our nail-down labor is $2.25/Sq Ft, nails and underlayment included. With the wood supplied by us, the total reaches $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.
We can remove the old floor, repair any weak subfloor and nail the new oak to solid plywood. Tear-out is about $1.00/Sq Ft.
Engineered hardwood is the answer. It floats on foam with glued joints, so nothing is driven into the concrete, at $2.00/Sq Ft for labor.
We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate labor is $1.99/Sq Ft, and vinyl is a sensible pick for a laundry room or basement.
It comes from our Natick warehouse the next day. Because the drive is short, installation can begin soon after.
One tread is $60, with the riser, nosing, stain and labor in the price. Stairs that are still solid can be hand refinished for $50 a step.
Labor is due when the crew starts, and material when it is delivered. Sanding jobs split payment, 50% when work starts and 50% with the final coat.
Labor carries a year of coverage from us, and the boards carry the maker's warranty. Our installers hold licenses, insurance and NWFA certification.
