Samples on Your Own Wood
We sand a strip by your sunniest window and lay three or four colors side by side. Squint at them with your coffee, look again at supper, and then decide.

Dark stain exposes any swirl mark, so we sand last with fine paper, then vacuum walls, sills and floor twice before the first drop of color lands.
A pad spreads the color, and our crew wipes off any surplus within minutes, so the mudroom doorway and the far corner of the front room end up one matching shade.
Licensed, insured, NWFA certified employees of ours do the staining, with a twelve month guarantee on labor. Half the cost is due as work starts, the rest on approval.

Staining is $2.00/Sq Ft. The sanding before it and the clear finish after are part of a full refinish, so your estimator gives you one clear total for the whole job.
Yes. We sand a patch about the size of a doormat near the window and try three or four colors there. Sleep on it, then pick, before anything goes on the whole room.
Usually. A toning stain settles that pinkish cast in red oak, and a mid brown or neutral shade hides it even more. We try a few next to each other on your floor.
Often, yes. We blend two stains and keep testing on scraps of the new oak until the tone sits close to the old floor, so the two rooms read as one.
Dark floors look great but reveal dust and dog hair faster. With a farm dog or a dirt driveway, a mid brown may be easier day to day. We talk it through first.
Yes. The treads and landing get hand sanded, take the same stain as your floors and are then sealed, so the color stays put under daily boots.
You pay 50% that opening morning when our sanders roll in. The balance waits until the last clear layer dries and you have checked every room and like it.
Yes. For one year, if our stain or finish work gives you trouble, the same licensed and insured people, all NWFA certified, come back to fix it.
