Red oak gets matched with red oak, maple with maple, same width, grain running the same way. We test stain on the patch until it sits easy beside a century old floor.

At your free visit we kneel for a close look, take moisture readings and check underneath, so the repair we price fixes the cause, not only the surface.
Planks that rock underfoot get screwed back to the subfloor. Cracks that open each woodstove winter get filled as well, which keeps toast crumbs out of them.
Each patch is the work of our own NWFA certified people, with full license and insurance, and we guarantee it for twelve months. Repair labor is paid on arrival.

We cannot guess blind. After a free estimate where we see the damage up close, you get a firm number. Two split planks by the woodstove cost far less than a kitchen ruined by a leaking dishwasher.
Usually. Only the bad planks come out. New wood of matching species and width gets woven in, and that section is sanded and finished until it blends with what surrounds it.
Nearly always. We read the species, width and grain first. When the color is tricky, we brush trial stain on scrap of the new wood until it looks right beside the old.
Almost always water, from a drip under the sink or a weeping dishwasher hose. That leak gets fixed before anything else, the floor dries out, and then any planks still raised are replaced.
Light ones usually vanish with sanding. Deeper gouges are packed with matching filler, then sanded flat following the grain and sealed, so they fade into the floor.
Woodstove heat dries the air, so the wood shrinks a little each winter. We fill the wider gaps that stay open so dirt stops packing into them, and a humidifier helps a lot too.
Repair labor gets paid the morning we start. If we supply new wood, that material is paid on delivery, separate from the labor.
Yes. During the first twelve months, if a patched plank loosens or a filled gap reopens, our licensed, insured crew comes back to set it right at no charge.
