Most jobs on a main level wrap up in a few days. On day one we'll go over when you can cross the floor in bare feet and which evening furniture can move back in.
Split strips, pet stains and cupped spots by the slider get fixed before sanding starts. That way the big machines level each patch together with the surrounding oak.
Westport refinishing jobs come with our one year labor guarantee. You pay half when the first room gets sanded, then the rest once the last finish has dried.

A soft greige tames the amber tint that aging red oak develops in sunny rooms along Old County Road.

A warm, slightly reddish brown looks right at home in the antique farmhouses around Head of Westport.

Rich walnut, dark yet with the grain still showing, dresses up a dining room on Hixbridge Road.

Usually, yes. Our machines collect most of the dust, so daily life goes on. Some families spend the night elsewhere the evening finish is applied, just to stay off it.
We can handle it. Clearing the rooms and bringing everything back is a flat $250. Heavy pieces like pianos or gun safes need to be discussed ahead of time.
A typical three quarter inch solid floor has enough wood for several more sandings. Before starting, we pull a floor register to check how much thickness remains.
That's covered under our one year labor warranty. We'll come out, look at the cause and fix the affected area at no charge.
