Yes, it handles damp well. We put plastic sheeting over the concrete first, then the planks. Vinyl won't rot or swell, though standing water should still be dealt with.
Does LVP work with a woodstove nearby?
It's fine in the room, but keep a stone or metal hearth pad under and in front of the stove. Hot embers can melt vinyl, so that zone needs a fireproof surface.
How much is a full LVP room?
Our install rate is $2.00/Sq Ft, underlayment included. With planks from us, it's $5.00/Sq Ft total. Removing an old floor adds about $1.00/Sq Ft if needed.
Is thicker vinyl plank worth it?
A thicker plank with a stronger wear layer handles heavy traffic and small subfloor flaws better. For bedrooms, a mid range plank is usually plenty.
Can LVP be laid over linoleum?
Often, if it's flat and well stuck down. Loose or cracked sections need to come up first, otherwise the ridges can telegraph up through the new planks.
Will I need to empty the kitchen?
Clear out the table, chairs and anything on the floor. Cabinets stay put and we install up to them. Furniture moving is available for $250.
Can a single damaged plank be swapped?
Usually, yes. Click planks can be taken apart back to the damaged one, or a single plank can be cut out and replaced. Keep a few spare planks for that.
What's the payment schedule for vinyl?
Two simple payments: installation is paid the day work begins, and any planks you ordered through us are paid at delivery. Nothing big is collected up front to hold your date.
