Treads, Risers and Nosing
Treads are solid oak, red or white, with the leading edge rounded over, and each is cut to fit your staircase rather than pulled off a shelf.

Sample treads come to the estimate with us. Prop red oak and white oak right beside your downstairs floor, and we'll stain to match whichever one wins.
Wobbly steps get tightened up first. Each new piece of oak is scribed snug to the plaster, glued, then fastened into the stringers so that creak on step three goes away.
Our licensed, insured crews carry NWFA certification and guarantee each staircase for a year. Should any step work loose, we return to tighten it.

Our price for a new hardwood tread sits at $60 per step, installed. Solid wood treads you already have can be refinished at $50 apiece, sanded and stained so they match.
Sure. Carpet, foam padding, those spiky tack strips and staples get hauled off, and then we check the wood below. Sometimes those treads deserve a refinish, and sometimes they need replacing.
A typical staircase takes a day or so, a bit longer when stain is involved or the count of steps is high. We keep a safe path up and down whenever we can.
We bring samples and tint them toward the floor at the top or bottom of the flight. Close color is the whole point, so we test before committing.
Usually, yes. Noise tends to come from treads rubbing on loose nails or the stringers. We tighten everything before the new wood goes on, which takes care of most of it.
We do. Open sides get mitered returns so the nosing wraps neatly, and we measure every step on its own, since older staircases are rarely perfectly even.
New tread installation is paid as our crew gets to your house. For tread refinishing, half is due the first morning and the balance after the clear finish goes on.
Yes, twelve months on our labor. Our stair guys hold NWFA certification, licenses and insurance, and if a step moves or starts to creak, we return and fix it.
