The Challenge
Where the walls came down, the subfloor had gaps and different heights from three old rooms.
Our Approach
We patched the gaps with new plywood, leveled the seams and set the layout so the wide planks run the long way through the space.
The Process
Each plank was glued and nailed, the ends staggered so no joints line up, then the floor was sanded and sealed on site.
Materials and Finish
Five inch white oak, plywood patches, adhesive with nails and a matte finish.
The Result
The first floor now feels like one big room, with wide oak running from the front door to the back slider.
