Walkthrough Before We Start

We start by walking the house with a level and a moisture meter, pressing on the subfloor and noting every door height. Springfield's older two and three story homes rarely have a perfectly flat base.

Licensed, Insured Installation

Each installer is on the Brazil Floors payroll, never a hired-in sub, and carries a license, insurance and NWFA certification into your home.

Remeasure and Material Count

On day one the crew re-measures, stages the cartons room by room and sets the thresholds and trim where they will be needed, so nobody searches the truck mid job.

One Year Install Warranty

You get one year on our labor, and the mill that made the wood stands behind the boards. Both the work and the material have coverage.

/ FLOOR PATTERN DESIGNS

Hardwood Floor Patterns

Layout changes how a room feels. Springfield customers choose straight lay, herringbone, chevron, diagonal or parquet, with borders priced once we see the space. Herringbone looks right in a Victorian parlor, straight rows in a plain ranch.

Straight Lay Hardwood

Rows follow the longest wall, which wastes little wood and gives a narrow Springfield living room more length.

Herringbone Hardwood

Short pieces turned into a zigzag bring period character to the front parlor of an old City of Homes Victorian.

Chevron Hardwood

Boards cut to meet in a point suit the open kitchens of renovated homes near Blunt Park.

Diagonal Hardwood

Planks run corner to corner on a 45 degree angle, a trick that widens a modest dining room.

Checkerboard parquet made of square wood blocks turned in alternating directions, Brazil Floors

Checkerboard Parquet

Squares of oak with the grain alternating give a sunroom or entry a classic parquet look.

Basket weave parquet with wood strips grouped in alternating squares, Brazil Floors

Basket Weave Parquet

Pieces woven over and under, usually with a dark border, belong in the older houses west of Atwater Park.

/ OUR SERVICES

Hardwood Floor Installers in Springfield

Our crew comes from the Natick store and warehouse at 9 Cochituate St and stays on a Springfield job until the last board is down. Here they laid underlayment, nailed each oak strip tight and left an expansion gap at the walls, the same routine we follow in houses from Hampden County neighborhoods to the blocks near the Mill River.

What does hardwood installation cost in Springfield?

Nail down labor is a flat $2.25/Sq Ft and covers the nails and underlayment. If we also supply the wood, installed packages are $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished and $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.

Can you take out wall to wall carpet in an older Springfield house?

Yes. The crew removes carpet, pad and tack strips, then checks the subfloor and secures anything loose before nailing the oak. Taking up whatever covers the subfloor now costs about $1.00/Sq Ft.

Which hardwood works over a concrete floor?

Engineered planks, glued edge to edge and floated on underlayment. It goes down without nails at $2.00/Sq Ft for labor.

Do you also install vinyl plank and laminate?

We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate labor is $1.99/Sq Ft, so one crew can handle the whole house.

How soon does the material arrive?

We deliver the day after you order, straight from our Natick warehouse. Nobody has to wait on a distributor.

What would new hardwood stair treads cost?

A new tread is $60 with the riser, nosing and stain included. If your current oak steps are sound, refinishing is $50 per step.

When do I pay?

Labor is due when the crew arrives, and the material when the boxes are delivered. A sanding job is paid in two halves, one when we begin and one with the last coat.

Who stands behind the floor once the crew leaves?

Our labor has a one year warranty, and the manufacturer covers the boards themselves. The people who did the work are our own employees, licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
