Walkthrough Before We Start
Many Pioneer Valley houses have settled over decades, so our lead checks the subfloor for dips, tests every doorway and looks at the stairs before quoting.

Every installer who steps into your house is licensed, insured and NWFA certified, so you are covered from the first nail to the last sweep.
Before the first board goes down, the crew measures each room and stacks cartons, trim and reducers where they will be needed.
We back our labor for one year, and the boards carry the mill's own warranty, which gives you protection on both the work and the wood.

Boards follow the longest wall, which wastes the least wood and stretches a narrow living room visually.

Short pieces turn at right angles in a stepped weave, a fitting look for a formal dining room in an older colonial.

Each board end is cut at 45 degrees so the rows join in a crisp V, handsome across a wide open kitchen.

Laid on a slant to the walls, the planks pull the eye across a small den and make it feel roomier.

Square oak tiles with grain turned in alternate directions give a sunroom a classic parquet look.

Narrow oak pieces woven over and under, usually edged by a dark border, suit the center hall of a traditional house.

Standard nail-down costs $2.25/Sq Ft in labor, and the fasteners and underlayment are part of that. With our boards the all-in price is $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished oak or $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.
Yes. The crew removes carpet, pad and staples at about $1.00/Sq Ft, repairs any loose plywood, then nails the oak down over a clean base.
Engineered. It floats on pad with glued joints, so nothing is driven into the slab, and labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
Nail-and-glue adds adhesive under each board for a firmer feel and costs $2.50/Sq Ft plus the adhesive. Standard nail-down stays at $2.25/Sq Ft.
We do, for a flat $250. The crew carries pieces out, protects them and sets them back once the floor is done.
Next day. Orders ship from our Natick warehouse, so the cartons are at your door well before the crew starts.
Crew labor is paid on the morning work begins, boxes are paid for as they are unloaded, and sanding is settled half at the start and half after the final coat.
