Walkthrough Before We Start
During the walkthrough an installer steps through every room, feels for soft plywood above the ductwork and marks each threshold where oak will meet tile or carpet.

Every installer nailing your floor holds a license and insurance, has NWFA certification and is a Brazil Floors employee. No Reading job is ever handed to an outside crew.
When install day arrives, we measure again, lay out planks by length and blend bundles together so tones and end joints scatter naturally instead of clumping.
If our nailing lets go before your floor turns one, we return free of charge. The wood maker separately warrants the planks.

Long straight rows running end to end, the classic choice for a living room in a Reading colonial.

Herringbone: short pieces offset into a zigzag, full of life in an entry hall or dining room.

Chevron: plank ends mitered to meet in sharp points that draw your eye down a hallway.

Diagonal: rows set at an angle that make a small bedroom feel roomier and disguise crooked walls.

Parquet: small blocks set in a grid of alternating squares, a retro touch for a study or breakfast corner.

Basket weave: pairs of strips flipping direction in each square, a handcrafted look in a home office.

Nailing costs $2.25/Sq Ft, fasteners and felt in the price. Supplying the wood too? Unfinished oak then totals $5.50/Sq Ft, prefinished $6.00/Sq Ft. Lifting the old flooring adds roughly $1.00/Sq Ft.
Yes, using engineered planks. Floating them over foam is $2.00/Sq Ft in labor, while a nail and glue install is $2.50/Sq Ft with the adhesive bought separately.
Coventry ships it the next morning after your order. Solid oak then needs several days in the very rooms it is meant for, adjusting to your humidity before nailing begins.
We plan each transition carefully, and if you want old and new to read as one floor, we sand the whole area together and refinish it at $2.50/Sq Ft.
We can. One flat $250 fee covers hauling sofas, beds and dressers out and setting them back afterward. Plenty of people clear rooms on their own, and that works too.
Nailing a large living room or two bedrooms is generally one or two days. Unfinished oak then needs a few more days for sanding and finish.
You pay labor the day installers show up, and wood from us once it is unloaded. If sanding is included, it is split into halves, first day and last day.
Brazil Floors does, covering labor through the first year, with the oak protected by its own manufacturer guarantee. People on site are our NWFA trained staff, with licenses and insurance in order.
