Walkthrough Before We Start
Long winters and swings between wet and dry air make wood work harder in a hill town, so our crew lead probes the subfloor, each threshold and the stairs before anything is ordered.

Whoever steps into your house is on our payroll with a license, insurance and NWFA certification, never a stranger hired for the week.
Measuring comes first, room by room, and then boxes, trim and reducers are lined up by the door. Once the crew is out here, the days go to laying and not to errands.
A full year of warranty covers our labor, while the boards bring the manufacturer's own promise. Workmanship and wood are both looked after.

Rows follow the long wall, the quickest and leanest layout, and it stretches a narrow farmhouse hall.

Short boards turned square to each other in a staggered zigzag, each one fitted by hand. A traditional match for a formal room in an older house.

Board ends cut at 45 degrees meet in a clean V, a good look for an open kitchen and living room.

Planks on a diagonal draw the eye across, which widens a small kitchen without moving a wall.

Oak squares with the grain alternating give a sunroom its parquet character.

Narrow oak pieces woven in a basket pattern, usually edged with a darker band. A fit for the better rooms of century-old houses.

Nail-down labor is a flat $2.25/Sq Ft, with nails and underlayment in it. Adding wood from us brings the total to $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Our base is the Natick shop, and the crew makes the drive to the Berkshires for each job. The in-home estimate is free, and samples come with the estimator.
Wood moves with the seasons in any hill town, so we leave a gap at each wall and check moisture before laying. Steady indoor humidity does the rest.
Yes. We screw down loose boards, add plywood where it is needed and nail the oak into a firm base.
Engineered boards, floated on foam with glued seams, so the slab is never drilled or nailed. Labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
Yes, at $2.00/Sq Ft for vinyl plank labor and $1.99/Sq Ft for laminate. Vinyl is smart for a mudroom that sees boots and snowmelt.
Each tread is $60 with its riser, nosing, stain and labor. Sound stairs can be refinished for $50 per step.
Labor is paid when the crew shows up and material when the boxes are delivered. A year of labor warranty applies, and the wood has its maker's warranty.
