Walkthrough Before We Start
Hill town houses built on ledge and summer cabins on piers shift with the frost, so the lead installer checks every room for slope and soft plywood before the wood is ordered.

Nobody on the job is hired for the day. Our installers are on the Brazil Floors payroll, licensed and insured, NWFA certified, and the same crew that quoted the floor is the crew kneeling on your plywood.
On install morning the lead installer re-measures, counts the cartons against the order, marks where each doorway transition will sit and chalks the starting line before anyone picks up the nailer.
Our labor is guaranteed for twelve months after the last board goes in, and the mill stands behind the wood itself, so a lifted plank or a milling defect both have someone to answer for them.

Planks run with the longest wall, keeping waste low and making a cabin great room feel longer.

Short boards set at right angles in a zigzag, fitted by hand, right for a formal dining room in an old farmhouse.

Mitered ends meet in a sharp V, a pattern that pulls the eye down a long timber frame hall.

Boards at 45 degrees widen a narrow bedroom and hide a wall that has drifted out of square on a ledge foundation.

Parquet squares with alternating grain, a traditional base under a dining table near Becket Center.

Narrow strips laid in alternating squares that turn ninety degrees each time, a hand built floor for a den or a study.

Labor for nail down installation costs $2.25/Sq Ft in Becket, and the nails and underlayment are inside that rate. If you buy the wood through us, a finished floor of unfinished oak comes to $5.50/Sq Ft and prefinished oak to $6.00/Sq Ft, material and work together.
Yes, with some care. A camp that sits cold all winter swings in humidity, so we favor narrower boards or engineered planks and leave room at the walls for movement.
Solid wood rests inside for several days while we meter the planks and the subfloor. Hill town homes with woodstoves run dry, and that wait prevents gaps come February.
An engineered plank floor that floats over a foam pad, joints glued, labor at $2.00/Sq Ft. Nothing gets fastened into the slab, so there is no drilling and no moisture path.
Boxes ship from 9 Cochituate St in Natick the day after the order is placed. The run out the Pike takes about two hours, and we book the install for the morning after the wood arrives.
Pulling up old carpet or flooring is roughly $1.00/Sq Ft, disposal included. Clearing the furniture out and setting it back costs a flat $250 for the whole job.
You pay the labor on the morning the crew shows up to begin, and the material on the day the boxes land at the house. We do not ask for a deposit to hold your date.
