Red oak gets red oak, maple gets maple, the same width, grain heading the same way. Stain is mixed on scrap until it matches a floor laid generations ago.

On your free visit we kneel by the damage, use a moisture meter and peek at the basement ceiling below, so the quote solves the cause, not only the spot.
Planks that bounce get screwed to the joists. The seams that open up every dry January are packed with filler, so pine needles and grit quit vanishing into them.
Patch work comes from people on our own payroll who hold NWFA certification, and every repair is guaranteed a full year. You pay repair labor the day our crew shows up.

We price it once we have seen it, at a free estimate. Two cracked planks by the fireplace run far less than a kitchen soaked when a supply line burst under the sink.
Usually. Only the damaged planks come out. Matching pieces get slipped in where they were, and that small section is sanded and stained until its color blends with everything around it.
Often. We study species, width and grain first. If the color is tricky, trial stain goes on offcuts of the new planks, and we keep adjusting until the patch and the antique floor agree.
Nearly always a slow leak. That leak gets stopped first, the subfloor dries out over a few days, and then any planks that stay raised get replaced.
Light scratches sand out. Deeper gouges get filled with tinted putty, sanded level with the floor and resealed, and from standing height you will not see them.
Furnace and woodstove heat leave the house air very dry, so oak shrinks a little. Gaps that stay open get filled so dirt stops lodging there, and running a humidifier makes a real difference.
Repair labor gets paid on the day our crew starts. When we bring new planks, those are paid as they are delivered, apart from the labor.
Yes, every repair we do is guaranteed one year. Should a patched plank work loose or a filled seam open up again, one of our licensed, insured crews returns and handles it at no cost.
