Treads, Risers and Nosing
Four species hang in our rack, from red and white oak to hickory and maple. Treads come thick, nosed round at the front, and paired with risers that close each gap below.

Tread samples ride along with the estimator. Set one across your bottom step, next to the hallway oak, and compare stain cans right there in daylight.
Any step that rocks gets screwed down to its stringer first. After that, our carpenter traces every wall line onto its tread, so uneven old plaster never leaves a gap.
Licensed, insured and NWFA certified, this stair crew stands by its carpentry twelve months. A tread that shifts or ticks gets a return trip from us.

Installed, one new hardwood tread runs $60. Refinishing a tread you already have is $50 a step. We count every step during the free estimate and write the total down for you.
Not for part of it. Adhesive cures and stain dries before anyone climbs, so we work out timing with you, and single staircase homes get a schedule that keeps bedrooms reachable.
Yes. Runner, padding, spiky strips and every staple get hauled off, and each step gets checked once it is bare. Removal pricing goes into your written estimate.
We bring sample treads and stain to the house and hold them against the hallway floor where stairs begin, so stairs and hallway look like they belong together.
Creaks mostly come from steps that have loosened. We screw each one tight to its stringers prior to installing treads, and adhesive keeps them quiet.
Refinishing runs $50 per step and new hardwood is $60. When current treads are solid oak without deep damage, refinishing usually makes more sense.
Install labor gets settled when carpenters pull in, and wood gets paid when delivered. Refinishing splits in half, 50% as sanding starts and 50% at completion.
Our stair carpentry carries twelve months of our labor protection, plus the wood maker guarantee. If a tread loosens or starts creaking again, we come fix it.
