Treads, Risers and Nosing
Pick your species: red or white oak, hickory, even maple. Every tread is cut to the exact width of your stairwell so each end tucks snugly against the wall.

Tread samples come to the estimate. Hold a few species against your hallway floor right at the landing, then pick a stain in the actual light of that stairwell.
Wobbly steps get screwed down to the stringers first. Then every tread gets traced to the wall, glued and nailed, ending the creak you hear at two in the morning.
NWFA certified, licensed and insured, our stair crews back their work for twelve months and come straight back if a tread ever loosens.

We charge $60 per step to install a new hardwood tread. When the treads you have now are sound hardwood, refinishing them instead costs $50 per step.
The carpet has to come off first. We yank the padding, the spiky tack strip and all those staples, then fasten new treads straight to the stair frame so nothing shifts underneath.
A typical staircase takes a short visit to install, and the stain and finish need drying time after. We plan it so you always have a way up and down, and tell you exactly when to avoid the steps.
We bring species samples and stain the treads on site, testing the color next to the floor at the bottom and top of the stairs until the shade matches.
Yes. Before any new tread goes down we secure loose steps to the stringers, and the new treads are glued and fastened, which quiets most squeaks for good.
If the wood is solid oak or another hardwood with enough thickness left, refinishing at $50 per step brings it back. We check this at the free estimate.
You settle the install labor that first morning when our stair crew unloads the truck. If we supply new material, that is paid when it is delivered. Refinishing work is split into two equal payments.
Yes, for a full twelve months on our labor. The people building your staircase are on our own payroll and NWFA certified, with full license and insurance behind them.
