The Challenge
The cupping spread about three feet out, and the owner worried the whole kitchen floor would need to go.
Our Approach
We checked the subfloor with a moisture meter, removed only the damaged strips and let the area dry before weaving in new oak.
The Process
The repair was sanded with the rest of the kitchen and sealed in one finish so the color matches edge to edge.
Materials and Finish
Matching red oak strips, glue, nails and a satin finish.
The Result
Only the damaged section was replaced, and the kitchen looks like one continuous floor again.
