The Challenge
Years of pets and furniture had left scratches deep in the wood, and an old finish had yellowed in front of the windows.
Our Approach
We sanded in three passes to get below the scratches, then edged the corners by hand so no old color would show at the walls.
The Process
After vacuuming twice we applied a clear water based sealer and two layers of satin finish, with a light buff between each one.
Materials and Finish
Bare sanded oak, water based sealer and satin finish with no stain.
The Result
The oak is pale and clean again. The scratches are gone and the room feels brighter than it has in years.
