The Challenge
The patch was right in the main walkway, so any difference in color or height would show.
Our Approach
We cut back into the old floor at staggered lengths and wove in new oak so the joints look natural.
The Process
The repair was sanded with the whole kitchen and sealed so the old island spot disappears.
Materials and Finish
Red oak strips cut to the old width, glue, cleats and a satin finish.
The Result
The kitchen floor looks continuous, and no one can tell where the old island stood.
