The Challenge
The burned spots went too deep to sand out, and the strips around them had cracked from the heat.
Our Approach
We removed every burned and cracked piece, then laced new oak back in so the joints match the rest of the room.
The Process
The repaired area was sanded with the whole room and sealed in one finish so the patch blends in.
Materials and Finish
Matching oak strips, wood glue, nails and a satin finish.
The Result
The floor in front of the fireplace looks like the rest of the room again, with no burn marks left.
