The Challenge
The trim was original and very dark, and the floor needed to match it without looking flat.
Our Approach
We tested three walnut shades next to the trim and picked the one that matched in both daylight and lamp light.
The Process
After sanding and water popping, the stain went on by hand and was sealed with a satin finish.

Dark walnut stain, water popping and a satin finish.
The Result
The floor and trim now look like they were always meant to go together.
