The Challenge
Building rules limit noisy work to weekday hours, and every piece had to come up in a small elevator.
Our Approach
We cut and staged the herringbone in a spare room, then glued and nailed it in quiet stages during building hours.
The Process
After the pattern was set, the floor was sanded flat and finished on site in a matte that suits the old moldings.
Materials and Finish
White oak herringbone, sound control underlayment and a matte finish.
The Result
The apartment has its herringbone again, and it looks like it never left.
