The Challenge
The mats were glued down, and the glue had soaked into the old steps.
Our Approach
We removed the old treads entirely rather than fight the glue, and installed new oak on every step.
The Process
The treads were stained a medium brown and sealed, with the risers painted a soft white.
Materials and Finish
Oak treads in a medium brown, soft white risers and a low sheen satin.
The Result
The stairs look clean and warm, and no more mats are sliding around.
