The Challenge
The two rooms had floors running the same way but with slightly different widths, so a straight filler strip would stand out.
Our Approach
We cut back into both floors at staggered lengths and wove in new oak that bridges the two sides naturally.
The Process
Once the weave was nailed and glued, both rooms were sanded together and sealed so the old wall line disappears.
Materials and Finish
New oak strips cut to width, wood glue, nails and a satin finish on both rooms.
The Result
Nobody can tell a wall was ever there. The kitchen and dining room now share one continuous floor.
