The Challenge
The strip ran right across the main room, so any color or height difference would show.
Our Approach
We cut back into each side at staggered lengths and wove in new oak to tie the rooms together.
The Process
Both rooms were sanded together and finished in one pass so the old wall line disappears.
Materials and Finish
Oak strips sized to the existing floor, glue, flooring nails and a satin water based finish.
The Result
The kitchen and living room look like one floor, and no one can tell a wall stood there.
