The Challenge

Salt air and humid summers move wood. The floor needed room to breathe without opening gaps in winter.

Our Approach

We let the oak sit in the house for a week to adjust, then nailed it over rosin paper with the right spacing at every wall.

The Process

After the install settled, we sanded the floor flat and sealed it with a finish that holds up to sandy feet.

Materials and Finish

Three inch white oak, rosin paper and a satin water based finish.

The Result

The front rooms feel solid and bright, and the oak has stayed tight through its first full season by the water.
