The Challenge
The old house had settled over a century, and the walls were nowhere near square.
Our Approach
We found the straightest wall, set our line from it and tapered the cuts along the crooked walls so the eye never catches it.
The Process
Each plank was glued and nailed over a leveled subfloor, then the floor was sanded and finished on site.
Materials and Finish
Five inch white oak, subfloor leveling and a matte water based finish.
The Result
The first floor now flows as one space, and the wide planks suit the tall ceilings of the old house.
