Walkthrough Before We Start
Houses on hills move as the decades pass. Before we open a carton, the crew lead tests the subfloor underfoot, takes door heights and marks anything that flexes.

You will never find a hired-out sub on your floor. Our installers are payroll employees, licensed and insured, with NWFA certification.
Install morning starts with a recount. Cartons are sorted into the rooms they belong to, and thresholds and reducers are laid at each doorway so the nailing never stalls.
Our workmanship comes with a full year of coverage, and the boards themselves are protected by the manufacturer's warranty.

Running the boards alongside the longest wall uses the least material and makes a snug living room feel longer.

Short planks angled left and right form a zigzag, a handmade touch for the hall of an old house.

Angled cuts at the ends of each plank join in a sharp point, which suits a kitchen open to the dining table.

Laid at 45 degrees to the walls, boards lead the eye across a small bedroom and widen it.

Squares of oak turned grain against grain, parquet style, look at home in a sunny back room.

Basket weave alternates short oak strips over and under, often inside a darker border, giving a dining room some character.

Plan on $2.25/Sq Ft for nail down labor, which already pays for nails and underlayment. When we sell you the wood too, the installed floor comes to $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
We do. Tear-out costs roughly $1.00/Sq Ft, and clearing a room of furniture and returning it afterward is a flat $250.
Engineered hardwood is the answer. It floats over underlayment with glue at each joint, which costs $2.00/Sq Ft in labor and keeps nails out of the concrete.
Some seasonal movement is natural in any solid floor. Gluing wide planks as well as nailing them limits it, and the estimator helps you choose the right method for your rooms.
In our Natick warehouse, and it is delivered the next day once ordered. Samples come to your house at the free estimate.
A new tread is $60 and includes the riser, nosing and stain. If your existing steps are sound, we refinish them at $50 each.
Labor is due as the crew arrives to start, and the material is due as the boxes are brought in. Sanding is the exception, with half at the first pass and half after the final coat.
A year on labor from us and the manufacturer's own warranty on the boards. Each installer who comes to your house holds a license, insurance and an NWFA certification.
