Walkthrough Before We Start
Hill houses breathe with the weather, so our lead checks joist spacing, subfloor condition and every doorway height before the first board is placed in your Heath home.

You will only ever see our own employees at the house. All are licensed and insured, and all hold NWFA certification.
Day one starts with the crew measuring each room, then setting cartons, trim pieces and reducers close to the entry for an orderly install.
Workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months, while the wood itself keeps the warranty issued by its maker.

Running planks along the long dimension of the room wastes little and visually lengthens a narrow sitting room.

Short pieces turn at right angles in a stepping pattern, each cut by hand. This suits a dining room in a house that is two centuries old.

Mitered edges meet at 45 degrees to form a clean V down the room. It looks sharp in a newly opened kitchen and dining space.

Planks set on the diagonal lead the eye across a small room and make a cabin den feel larger than it is.

Squares of oak set grain against grain create a parquet floor that fits a bright sunroom with a view toward the Berkshires.

Narrow oak strips woven in an over and under weave, framed by a dark border, bring old world style to an entry.

Labor for nail down hardwood is $2.25/Sq Ft, nails and underlayment included. If we supply the wood, it totals $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00 prefinished.
They can. Pulling the old floor costs about $1.00/Sq Ft, and the crew inspects the subfloor and secures any loose spots before laying oak.
An engineered floor floated over pad, glued at the edges so no fasteners enter the slab. Labor for it is $2.00/Sq Ft.
Vinyl plank is $2.00/Sq Ft of labor and laminate $1.99/Sq Ft, both practical for entries that take snowy boots all winter.
Material is delivered the next day from the Natick warehouse. Phone 508-306-4190 and we will tie it to your estimate.
Each new tread is $60, riser, nosing, stain and labor included. Treads still in good shape can be refinished for $50 a step.
The labor payment comes when work begins and the material payment when the boxes reach your door. Sanding is billed half at the start and half after the final coat.
One year on the workmanship, plus the maker warranty on the boards. Each crew member on site holds a license, carries insurance and has NWFA certification.
