Walkthrough Before We Start
Before a single board is opened, our lead installer walks the cottage, presses the subfloor for soft spots and checks how each door swings, because sea air and closed winters move wood on an island.

Our installers are Brazil Floors employees, never subcontractors, and each one is licensed, insured and NWFA certified before stepping into your Gosnold house.
On the first morning the crew measures again and sorts cartons by room, with trim and reducers staged at every doorway, so nobody stops to hunt for a missing piece.
You get one year of labor warranty from us plus the manufacturer's warranty on the boards, so both the installation and the wood are covered.

Boards run along the longest wall, which wastes the least wood and stretches a narrow cottage room.

Short pieces set at right angles in a zigzag and fitted one at a time, a classic look for a dining room.

Rows mitered at 45 degrees meet in a tidy V down the middle, a match for open plan summer kitchens.

Planks angled across the room pull the eye outward and make a small bunk room feel wider.

Oak squares with alternating grain, parquet style, for a sunroom that faces the harbor.

Short oak pieces woven over and under, usually framed by a darker border, give a living room a focal point.

Nail down labor is a flat $2.25/Sq Ft, nails and underlayment included. Material plus installation comes to $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished oak or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Yes. We check the subfloor at the free estimate, note any moisture left by a closed up season and fasten or replace weak plywood before new boards go on.
Engineered hardwood. It floats on underlayment with glue in the joints, so nothing is nailed into the slab, and the labor is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate is $1.99/Sq Ft, and vinyl is the safer pick for a mudroom or lower level that meets salt damp.
Ask at the free estimate and we plan the order with you before anything is purchased. Our stock is held at the Natick warehouse.
Each new hardwood tread costs $60 and takes in the riser, nosing, stain and installation. Sound stairs can be refinished instead at $50 per step.
Labor is paid when the crew arrives to start, and material when the boxes are delivered. When sanding is part of the job, half is paid at the start and half once the final coat is on.
Yes. Labor has a one year warranty and the flooring carries the manufacturer's warranty. Each crew member working in your Gosnold house is licensed, insured and certified by the NWFA.
