Samples on Your Own Wood

Test patches are brushed right onto your bare wood, letting you study every shade with morning sun, lamps at night and your own furniture around it before we commit.

Fine Grit Sanding First

Dark colors show every swirl a sander leaves behind. Before any stain is opened, a final screening pass with fine grit goes over the whole floor.

No Blotches or Lap Marks

We work stain into the pores with pads, then wipe away what the wood does not drink. Working that way, the tone stays even from the entry to the farthest corner, with no lap lines.

One Year Staining Warranty

Every stainer is a Brazil Floors employee, NWFA trained, licensed and insured. Our workmanship stays covered through the next four seasons.

Stain Colors for Uxbridge Homes

River light through mill house windows in Hecla, deep shade from the trees around West Hill Dam and bright kitchens in newer homes near the golf course all change how a stain reads. We test in your actual light, so the color you approve is the one you live with.

Hardwood Floor Staining Services

Clear natural, weathered gray, warm honey, deep walnut or nearly black espresso. Any of them can be laid down with care and sealed tight.

Natural Look, No Stain

A Wheelockville cape keeps its oak bare under clear finish, letting the natural grain stand out.

Gray and Driftwood Tones

Cool gray pairs nicely with white trim in a sunny farmhouse kitchen out near Hartford Avenue.

Dark Walnut and Espresso

In a den off Mendon Street, espresso is laid down evenly, with none of the blotching dark colors invite.

Custom Color Mixing

A pair of stains mixed for a colonial by Blissful Meadows land on a tone no single can could reach.

Red Oak Toning

Red oak tends to blush pink in afternoon sun, and a toner layer settles it into a calmer brown.

Color Change on Old Floors

Floors in older North Uxbridge homes are sanded to fresh, clean wood so the new color takes evenly.

Sanding, Treads and Floor Upgrades

Changing color means the floor is sanded bare and refinished first. We also build oak stair treads, repair damaged spots before staining, and install hardwood or LVP in tired rooms.

How is floor staining priced?

Staining is $2.00/Sq Ft. Sanding and refinishing come first at $2.50/Sq Ft, and the full figure arrives in writing after we measure your rooms during the free visit.

Is gray a good choice on red oak?

It can, though red oak carries pink undertones that sometimes peek through gray. We test it on your floor first, and a toner layer helps if the result runs too warm.

Any advice for choosing a shade?

Judge the samples on your own floor in daylight, then look again after dark under your lamps. Lay a rug or pillow beside them too, since color looks different next to your things.

Where does the pink in red oak come from?

Red oak has natural red pigment in its grain that peeks through pale or gray stains. Toner, or choosing a slightly warmer color, tames that tint.

Can you match the stain in my other rooms?

Yes. Samples are mixed and brushed onto your floor until the new shade sits right beside the existing rooms. Older wood that has darkened with age may need a custom blend.

When is the stained floor usable again?

Give the final layer of finish a full day before walking on it barefoot. Chairs and tables return in two or three days, and rugs are best left off for roughly two weeks.

When is payment due for staining?

Since staining is part of the sanding job, we take half when sanding starts and the remainder when the final finish is down and you are satisfied with the room.

Is stain work covered by a warranty?

Yes. For one year our crew backs its labor, and the finish products carry their own warranty from the manufacturer on top of that.
