Samples on Your Own Wood
Your stain color gets picked on your own oak. A few shades are brushed onto freshly sanded patches, and you compare them under the windows and lamps of that room.

Stain magnifies sander swirls, so the closing cut uses a fine screen, and the shop vac circles the room twice before a single drop of color reaches the oak.
Pigment gets massaged in by hand across a small stretch of floor, and any excess is rubbed off right after, so the shade near the doorway matches the shade by the window.
Only Brazil Floors staff handle the staining, all NWFA trained, and if their work disappoints you inside a year, they return to make it right at no charge.

Color on its own costs $2.00/Sq Ft. When you are already getting a full sand and refinish, the $2.50/Sq Ft rate covers color too, so you never pay for stain twice.
Every time. Samples go onto your sanded wood, and you can check them over morning coffee and again with the lamps on before one gets chosen for the room.
Maple and hickory are dense and can blotch, so our tests on them are extra careful, and we might suggest a lighter tone or a clear finish. Oak, red or white, takes stain the most predictably.
Yes, white oak handles gray beautifully. Red oak tends to drift pink beneath gray, so our crew tries it on a patch and may use a toner before the final color.
Wood floors and cabinets rarely match exactly, and most designers prefer a contrast anyway. Bring a cabinet door sample to the estimate and we will test shades beside it.
Stain dries first, then polyurethane goes over it and needs time to cure. Before work begins, our crew writes down a day for careful barefoot walking and another for moving the couch back.
Sanding and staining are split into two equal payments. The first is due when work begins and the second after the final layer of polyurethane is applied.
Yes. Should anything we stained fail within twelve months, our crew comes back. Every person holding a brush is an NWFA trained Brazil Floors employee, licensed and insured.
