First we identify the wood, measure strip width and study the grain. Stain is then tried on offcuts of new oak until it sits comfortably next to your old floor.

The free estimate is done in person. A tech looks at the damage, reads a moisture meter and checks underneath before giving you one clear written number.
Strips that rattle get fastened tight, and seams that widen in dry winter heat are filled before sand from the beach can lodge inside them.
Fixes are made by NWFA trained Brazil Floors employees who are licensed and insured. Each one carries our one year labor guarantee on top of the wood maker's warranty.

Usually, yes. We bring offcuts of new oak and tint them right in your room, holding each sample beside the old strips under your own lighting until the color and grain read as one floor.
We quote each repair only after a free visit, because two patches of the same size can need very different work. The tech checks for hidden moisture and loose subfloor, then hands you one written figure.
Moisture from wet towels, beach sand tracked in damp, or salty air pushing under a door swells the bottom of each strip. Once the area dries out we either flatten it with sanding or replace pieces that stay raised.
Fresh oak can darken a touch as it ages in sunlight, so we tint the new strips slightly toward where the old floor is headed. Most owners stop noticing the spot within weeks.
Yes. Long trim screws are driven down through the oak into the joists from above, the heads are sunk and covered with tinted filler, and the noise is gone without lifting a single strip.
Rarely. Urine soaks past the surface and turns the wood black inside, so sanding just reveals more stain. Those strips are cut out, replaced with sound oak, and the section is refinished.
Yes. Should a fixed strip rise again or a squeak come back before a year is up, a licensed, insured tech from our company comes out and corrects it free of charge, and the wood maker's warranty applies as well.
Small patches and squeak fixes often wrap up the same afternoon. Bigger areas where stain and finish must dry can run two to three days, and the tech tells you the timing at the estimate.
