Dustless Floor Refinishing
Our sanders feed straight into dust collection vacuums, so very little dust escapes. Radiator tops, sills and trim are cleaned, and we vacuum before each new finish layer.

Allow several days from the first pass with the big drum sander until the last clear layer dries. Bare feet are fine after about a day, and beds and sofas return a bit later.
Before sanding, we fix gouges, loose planks and pet stains, so the repaired areas sand level with the rest and the finished floor looks like one surface.
Every Adams refinish includes our one year workmanship promise. You pay fifty percent when the drum sander first starts and the balance after you've inspected the shiny new floor.

Natural uses clear finish only, so the oak's own warm or pale color comes through.

A medium brown stain disguises pet fur and crumbs in a kitchen where everyone gathers.

A neutral brown calms the orange cast that older red oak develops over decades, and it suits almost any trim color.

A warm, reddish brown that looks right beside brick, fieldstone or dark painted trim.

Dark walnut adds a formal feel to a dining room while letting the grain show through.

Near black espresso looks striking across a spacious, open living area, but lint and dog fur stand out sooner.

It's $2.50/Sq Ft for sanding, any stain color you choose, and clear finish. Staircases are $50 per step. We'll also move furniture for one flat $250 fee when you want our crew to do the heavy lifting.
Yes. Sanding removes the sun bleached surface, and fresh finish evens out the color. If one area is much lighter, a stain can help it match the rest of the floor.
Very little. Each sander is connected to a vacuum that grabs the dust right as it's made, and the room gets cleaned again before every finish layer.
Most solid oak and maple can be sanded several times. We pull up a heat register to check how thick the wood is, and we'll tell you honestly if it's too thin.
Usually not. Water based finish smells fairly mild, so most families simply avoid the rooms under work. If the kitchen is part of the job, plan on a day or two of takeout from Park Street.
Light stains often sand out. Deep, dark marks usually soak right into the oak, and in that case we remove those pieces, match them with new wood and blend them in before the whole floor gets refinished.
Half is paid when the sanders start up on day one. The second half comes due when the final finish has dried and you've walked the floor with us.
Yes. Licensed, insured employees of ours do every refinish, with labor warrantied twelve months. If something isn't right in that time, a crew member returns to make it right.
