Our estimator comes to the house with tread samples in hand. Lay them against your hall floor at the base of the stairs and the right wood becomes obvious.
Wobbly steps are screwed fast to the stringers before anything else happens. After that, the installer fits each new tread to the wall, glues it and fastens it.
A licensed, insured, NWFA certified crew builds every staircase, and our labor comes with a one-year warranty.

One step costs $60, which includes the hardwood tread, riser, bullnose, stain to match your floor and the labor.
Yes. All of it goes: carpet, pad, tack strips and staples, with the removal price given at the in-home estimate.
Solid oak treads can be hand refinished at $50 a step. Treads that are cracked or thin are replaced with new ones.

A return goes on each exposed end, so the nosing turns the corner and finishes the side.
Labor is due as the crew starts, and material is due at delivery, which arrives from Natick the next day.
A one-year warranty applies to our labor, while the manufacturer stands behind the materials. Our stair crew holds a license, insurance and NWFA certification.
