Treads, Risers and Nosing
Red and white oak lead the list, while hickory and maple suit anyone after bolder grain or a paler look. Each tread gets measured for its own step, so none of them rock.

Our estimator carries sample treads. Prop one against the hall floor where your staircase begins, compare the colors right there and choose before we cut a thing.
Squeaky or loose stringers get fixed before any oak reaches the stairwell. Each step's outline is traced on the plaster, then the tread is glued and pinned for silence.
Your stairs are built by our own NWFA trained carpenters, licensed and insured. A step that loosens within twelve months gets tightened by us, free of charge.

Sixty dollars a step: $60 buys the new hardwood tread fitted in place. Keeping your solid old treads and refinishing them instead comes to $50 apiece.
Yes, and we handle it. Everything comes up, staples included, and the wood beneath gets an honest look to decide between refinishing and a fresh oak tread on top.
A typical straight run takes a day or two to install. Finish needs time to dry, so we schedule sections to leave you a safe route up and down every night.
Yes. Loose, noisy steps get screwed and glued down to the stringers while everything is open, which is the ideal moment to silence them for good.
Samples come along, and finishing happens right in your stairwell, so we can blend the tone to the floors at both ends of the run.
We can install white risers for a crisp contrast, or finish them in the very tone used on the treads. You decide at the estimate after seeing both side by side.
New tread labor is paid as our carpenters start, materials as they are delivered. Refinishing old treads is split in two: half at the start, the other half when we wrap up.
Yes. A full year covers our carpentry, and any treads we supply also keep the manufacturer warranty that comes with them.
