Treads, Risers and Nosing
Oak is the usual pick, with hickory and maple on hand for more grain or a paler tone. Each tread is cut for its own step, so nothing rocks or gaps at the wall.

Sample treads come out of the van at your estimate, and you can stand them beside the floor at the foot of the staircase and settle on a stain color right there.
Any step that wobbles or groans is tightened first. After that we trace every tread to the wall line, then glue and pin it down so the climb stays quiet.
The people on your stairs are our own crew, NWFA trained, licensed, insured. We back their labor twelve months, so a tread that loosens brings us right back.

We charge $60 per step for a new hardwood tread, installed and stained to blend with your floors. Bringing back a solid tread you already have costs $50 per step.
Yes. Runner, pad, tack strip and every staple get pried out, then we look at the wood underneath and tell you honestly whether it can be refinished or needs new treads.
Most staircases wrap up within two days. Working every other step lets someone still go up and down carefully while the stain dries.
We stain them in the house and test the color right against your floor first. That way the steps and the hallway read as one, rather than two different woods meeting at the top.
In most houses, yes. We drive screws into any step that moves, and each fresh tread goes on with adhesive plus fasteners, which silences nearly all of the creaks for good.
If the wood is solid, sanding it smooth and refinishing it costs $50 a step. Deep cracks or soft spots mean a new tread is the smarter money.
Installation is settled the morning our crew arrives. For sanding and refinishing, you pay half when the work begins and half when the last step is finished.
Yes. We guarantee the workmanship for twelve months, and if a tread shifts or starts creaking in that window, one of our guys swings by to fix it.
