Treads, Risers and Nosing
Treads come in red or white oak, hickory or maple. We hold each species next to the hardwood at the bottom step so you can judge the match in person.

Stain is brushed on right there in your house, so the treads can match the hallway, go a shade darker for contrast or sit above white risers for a classic look.
Wobbly steps get sorted out first, ahead of any fresh wood. Each tread is scribed to hug the wall, then glued and screwed, so the creaks on the way to bed finally stop.
Our NWFA certified, licensed and insured crew backs every staircase for twelve months of labor. If a tread ever moves, we return and set it straight.

We charge $60 a step for each new hardwood tread, put in and colored to match your floors. Count your steps and you can ballpark the total in seconds, and we confirm the count at the estimate.
When the treads are solid hardwood without deep damage, absolutely. Sanding and finishing what you already have comes to $50 per step, its color matched to the hallway or the floor below.
Everything comes out: carpet, padding, tack strip and staples. The removal cost depends on the staircase and gets confirmed at your free estimate, before any work is booked.
Most staircases wrap up within a day or two. Stain and finish get scheduled so you can still get up to bed, and we'll explain the drying windows before we start.
Usually, yes. Squeaks happen when a loose tread rubs against nails or the stringer, so we fasten everything tight and glue each new tread down before it's finished.
That's the goal. We bring tread samples in several species and test stain on them beside your floor, so the stairs and hallway read as one.
Installation gets paid the day our crew pulls up, and any material is paid on delivery. If we're refinishing existing treads, half is due when sanding starts, the rest on the final day.
Yes. Our own NWFA certified crew guarantees the labor on every staircase for one year, and the manufacturer's warranty still covers new treads and finish.
