We look closely at species, plank width and the way the grain runs, then brush test stain onto the new wood until it vanishes beside the original oak.

The free estimate is where we size up the damage, read moisture levels and peek at what's under the floor, because a repair only lasts if the cause is solved.
Loose strips are fastened tight again, and those winter gaps that swallow crumbs are filled so the floor sits snug and easy to sweep.
Repairs are handled by our in house NWFA trained crew, licensed and insured, and that workmanship stays guaranteed a full year from the day we finish.

Honestly, not until we see it, because every damaged floor is different. The visit costs nothing, and you'll have a firm price before anything is cut or sanded.
In most homes, yes. We match the species, the width and the grain, then test stain on the new pieces until they blend with the original wood around them.
Often it doesn't. Small patches can usually be finished on their own, but if the rest of the floor is very faded, sanding and refinishing everything at $2.50/Sq Ft makes it look even.
Moisture, nearly every time. A slow leak, a damp crawlspace or water by a door makes the edges rise. We find the source first, otherwise the problem returns.
Light surface stains sometimes sand out. Dark stains that soaked deep into the wood usually can't, so we replace those pieces and stain them to blend.
Many repairs can start the next day. Bigger water damage jobs may need a few days of drying before new wood goes in, and we'll tell you up front.
Payment is due when our crew arrives to do the work. If the repair includes sanding and refinishing, half is paid the first day and half at the end.
The people on our payroll do it, NWFA trained, insured and licensed, never subcontractors. That labor stays guaranteed twelve months, and if the patch gives you trouble in that time, we come back.
