Treads, Risers and Nosing

Sample treads come to your estimate, letting you hold several species and stains against the hallway floor and decide right there.
Squeaks and wobbles get silenced first. Then every tread is scribed against its walls, glued down and fastened so it stays quiet for years.
Our licensed, insured, NWFA certified stair crew warranties its labor twelve months, and if any step loosens, someone comes back out.

Every new hardwood tread comes to $60 per step, installation included. When your current treads are solid wood needing only a sanding, refinishing runs $50 per step.
Most staircases need a day, sometimes two. When treads get stained and finished right there, allow drying time before your family resumes normal traffic.
Yes. We choose a species that pairs with your floors, then test stain on a spare tread, adjusting until both colors line up closely in your own light.

Usually yes. We stage work so there's a safe route up, though during finishing there may be several hours when nobody should climb them.
Our crew pulls carpet, pad, tack strip, even the tiniest staples, then carts it all away. Removal appears as its own line in your estimate.
For new treads, labor gets settled as installers arrive on day one, and material at delivery. Sanding and refinishing old treads splits 50% up front, 50% at completion.
Each Middleborough staircase we build is guaranteed a year on labor, and new treads carry their maker's warranty. NWFA certification, licensing and insurance cover our stair crew.
