The estimator arrives in Ellington with tread blocks in all four woods. Lay one on the hall floor at the base of the stairs and the match is obvious in a minute.
Nothing new goes on until the old stringers and framing are screwed tight. After that, each tread is scribed to its spot, glued and fastened so it cannot shift or squeak.
The crew rebuilding your stairs is licensed, insured and NWFA certified, and Brazil Floors backs the labor for a full year. A loose tread or a new squeak is fixed on us.

Solid wood treads without cracks or chew marks can be sanded and refinished for $50 a step. Soft, split or badly worn treads are replaced.
