Treads, Risers and Nosing
Our replacement treads are red oak or white oak, nosed and rounded at the front, and we stain each one in place so the climb and the hallway share a single tone.

Bring your questions to the estimate. Red and white oak samples get propped at the foot of your stairs, next to the hall oak, while we swap stains around until one wins.
Any step that rocks is driven down into its stringer long before new wood arrives. Fresh treads get scribed to the plaster, glued, screwed, and the squeaking quits.
Licensing, insurance and NWFA certification come standard with our installers, and their staircases carry twelve months of labor backing. A tread shifts? We return.

Every brand new hardwood tread costs Chicopee homeowners $60 per step, scribed and tinted toward your floor color. Refinishing a solid tread you already own is $50 per step.
Sure. During the estimate we fold back the carpet over one or two steps. If solid oak turns up, refinishing at $50 per step might be all the job needs.

Yes. Stain is mixed and tested where the stairs meet the hall, so the steps and the oak beside them read as one continuous floor.
Paint them white for a classic look, or choose oak risers wearing the very stain your treads get. Samples of both come to the estimate.
New treads are paid as installers arrive, and any material on delivery. Sand and refinish work is split evenly, opening day and completion.
Yes, twelve months of labor backing from our NWFA certified people. If any tread loosens during that time, we return and fasten it for free.
