A row of three or four candidate shades goes across bare oak by the window, so you can watch each of the stain colors shift between sunrise and supper.

Stain spotlights any swirl mark, so our last sanding pass runs at fine grit, then a vacuum sweeps everything two separate times before color ever touches the oak.
Stain gets spread with a lambswool applicator and the leftover wiped within minutes, keeping the tone steady across the floor with no dark halos by the trim.
Staining is done by our own trained, licensed, insured employees, whose labor we stand behind a full year once the last layer cures.

Staining runs $2.00/Sq Ft. Since pigment only takes on bare wood, it is normally combined with a sand and refinish costing $2.50/Sq Ft, and we explain both at the free visit.

Usually, yes. We mix samples on scrap oak and keep adjusting until they agree with the neighboring room, and then both floors look like a single floor.
Stain dries first, clear finish follows, and once that top layer has cured roughly a day, bare feet are welcome. Furniture waits one more day.
It counts as sanding work, so payment comes in two halves, one the first morning and one after every layer of clear finish is down.
Yes. We back that labor a full year, and every crew member carries license and insurance. If the color fails through our mistake, we return and fix it.
