Mohawk Industries will raise its flooring prices by 7% starting January 4, 2027, InteriorDaily reported, citing an analysis from Truist Securities first published by Investing.com. Rival Shaw moved first, with an increase the report dates to October 19, 2026.
Truist expects the later timing to squeeze Mohawk's margins in the fourth quarter of 2026 and has lowered its estimates. The firm sees petrochemical raw materials as a bigger risk than European gas prices. Those materials make up more than 60% of carpet production costs and also feed into luxury vinyl tile, and their prices have risen a few percent.
Truist kept its Buy rating and a $155 price target, against a share price of $119.18 at the time of the report. It says Mohawk is gaining market share in the United States. Second quarter revenue rose 6.8% to $2.99 billion, and adjusted earnings of $3.67 per share came in well above expectations.
