Walkthrough Before We Start
Large older Winchester houses often carry sagging joists, patched additions and floors that rise and fall room to room. Before ordering a board, our crew lead checks the subfloor, the thresholds and the staircase.

The installers who show up are Brazil Floors employees, never subcontractors, and each carries a license, insurance and NWFA certification into your home.
Our crew starts with a tape measure in every room, then lines cartons, trim and reducers up beside the entry so nothing slows the day once boards start going down.
Our work is guaranteed for a full year, and the lumber arrives with the manufacturer's own warranty, so the labor and the oak both have backing.

Boards laid along the longest wall waste the least wood and carry the eye down a long hallway.

Short oak lengths laid at right angles in a zigzag, every piece trimmed on the spot. A fitting look for a dining room in a Waterfield Victorian.

Boards cut at 45 degrees meet in a clean V along the center of the room, a strong choice for a kitchen opened up to a family room.

Planks set at a diagonal send the eye toward the far wall and give a smaller study more depth.

Oak squares with their grain turned in alternating directions, the parquet tradition. A natural choice for a sunroom behind an older house.

Short strips woven over and under, usually framed by a dark border. It belongs in the formal rooms of early twentieth century houses.

Installation by nail-down is $2.25/Sq Ft for labor, and the nails and underlayment come in that figure. Buying the wood through us makes the package $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished, and material from us can be up to 30% off.
Usually, yes. The crew lead tests the subfloor at the estimate, then flattens or re-fastens what needs it before oak goes down.
Engineered hardwood floated with glued edges, since nails cannot go into concrete. Labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Laminate labor is $1.99/Sq Ft and vinyl plank is $2.00/Sq Ft, and both make sense for a playroom or laundry area that sees spills.
Material rolls out of the Natick warehouse and reaches your door the next day. The free in-home estimate comes first, and we bring samples with us.
Each hardwood tread is $60, including the riser, nosing, stain and labor. Sound stairs can be sanded and refinished for $50 per step instead.
Pay labor on the day the crew arrives and begins, and pay for material when it is delivered. A sanding job is divided evenly, half when it starts and half with the last coat.
Our labor is warrantied for one year, and the manufacturer stands behind the boards. Every installer on payroll is licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
